about

"If God had a voice it'd sound like Music For Tablets 1-6" - Khelly Moore of Hanna Barbaric.

While that's plainly overselling, these 48 songs written and recorded in Caustic 2 and 3 (an Android OS digital audio workstation with at most 14 tracks of virtual drum machines, synthesizers and sampling) demonstrate just how much can be done with as little as possible. Largely recorded and mixed between university classes, during road trips and flights, on walks to the store and during train commutes to and from work on a decided low-end Android phones and tablets, "Music For Tablets" is an exercise in what can be done with spare time, limited software and limited hardware.

I may eventually take the compositions and bring them into Reason to be rendered and embellished there as a separate project. However, they've already taken on a life of their own, underpinning work by Hanna Barbaric, Ish1da and more. What started as a simple EP of 4 songs blossomed into a series, and I've collected that here to showcase the first phase of that work, the numbered Music For Tablets EPs.
