One of my old friends of mine from the late 90's mp3.com scene decided to pose challenge to the rest of his friends and I from that era, namely making a 40+ minute, 8+ song album in January, and no preset patches, and no existing samples could be used. Everything had be done from scratch. Everything had to be zero'd out as much as the device or plug-in would allow (short of detuning guitars basically,) and then done from the ground up. I went in since I had some days off, and even with a trip to the hot springs without my computer in the middle of it, finished my 8 song, 41 minute LP on January 4th, 2015 after having started on January 1st, 2015. Every sound on the album started from the rawest possible settings.
