Wake to new appendages, yet I'm in my right mind
Feel oddly at home, welcomed into friendship

Time is flying by, and friends start to fly away
Thought I understood life, as a young Haibane
Guilt eats away at my core irrational
Feathers turn black, no longer ashen wool

But my friends are patient, hide it with medication
Search for inner peace through deepened meditation
Still panicked in a rush trying to reclaim my history
Instead my past found me, and absolved my misery

That moment in the winter only caused more questions
